Confidence Ratings Key
So now that you have results on your horses' genetic findings, how reliable or accurate is each trait/marker? We have included ratings for each individual trait and result. The ratings scale is based on: Years of research and number of animals studied, the quality of the references and scientific studies, any further verifiable data and validated results.
FOUR HORSESHOES: High confidence, findings reproduced in multiple studies.
THREE HORSESHOES: Reasonable confidence, findings reproduced in some studies.
TWO HORSESHOES: Cautious optimism; findings require multiple studies and further validation.
ONE HORSESHOE: Discovery stage - experimental and requires further study and owner feedback!
